British Newspaper The Guardian Victim of Cyber Attack!

British Newspaper The Guardian was hit by a cyber attack over the Christmas period, the attack affected part of the company’s technology infrastructure and lead to staff being instructed to work from home.

The Guardian believes the attack in question was likely a ransomware attack, an attack which locks you out of your computer and holds your files for ransom.

More about the attack can be found below.

Downtime and disruptions like these can be prevented with the use of a remote third party backup.

Having a regularly updated backup stored elsewhere protects you in the case of a ransomware attack, as the backup is not stored on the infected computer, you can restore files and whole servers to get back up and running again.

Here at backup systems our dedicated disaster recovery server stores the latest backups of individual files, software and both internal systems and individual system disk images for a quick restoration in the event of any kind of issues, including cyber attacks or human error.
