The two main activities the system undertakes is the backing up of servers and the replicating of that data over the internet. The frequency and timing of both is configurable.
Some server may just be backed up once, at the end of the day. Some servers may need to be backed up hourly or even more frequently. Any number of jobs can be setup and jobs can be grouped together. The level of granularity is such, that a job can be setup to backup one directory on a target machine.
The replicating of data over the internet is usually scheduled to run during the night when bandwidth is not needed. However replication can be run at anytime and as frequently as desired - network speed permitting. Different data can be replicated at different times with different frequencies. Filters allow the selecting of which data to replicate. Jobs can be grouped and prioritized.
If required, ad-hoc backups can be kicked off from a web interface on the appliance.
